Cartilage piercing questions?

I had my cartilage done years ago. I still have the raised bump thing. So long as you have an earring in it, it will be tender to the touch. It will close after one full day of having something out of it. It is really hard to tell if it is healed, I know that you will stop seeing crusty junk around the ear when it is healed. Just keep it clean.
