Do you get drawn in to my novel when you read this beginning?

I liked that it had a different slant in that he was 'bony' and she was 'dark and dull' and the house is gloomy. It isn't the whole 'happy vamp' thing and he's not brooding and sexy either just pissed off. More than that and no I could probably put this book down for something better in a heartbeat. The idea of him going back to 'school for the hundreth' time indicates to me some young adult stuff that doesn't thrill me.
