Would you tell people that your CZ ring isn't real?
After almost 10 years of marriage and 10 years of wearing my engagement ring/wedding set, I'm upgrading to a new set. I've had my engagement ring and bands (all soldered together b/c I have an antique ring that is Edwardian style - square - so no band would fit) resized 4-5 times and my jeweler (who is excellent ) said it's best not to keep doing it. I'm also ready for a new style. My dream ring is a solitaire with a band and we could never afford it. When I go back to work in the fall (I'm a SAHM now), my husband said I could upgrade to a 1.5 solitaire ring in September (our 10th anniversary). I found a beautiful 14k white gold CZ ring in 1.5 size solitaire to wear for now (and if I like it, may not get the real diamond b/c of costs and saving money) and was thinking...do I really need to tell everyone, if they ask, that it's fake? I'm the type that ALWAYS tells the truth on my things...how cheap my clothes were (if I'm complimented on them), if a ring I'm wearing is CZ/fake, etc...but I started thinking...do I really need to do this? Can I just say "thank you" if complimented and go on my way or should I always say it's a CZ? I know this sounds like a dumb question but just wanted to get others opinions. Please, no rude comments. Thanks.
