I want to register a car for a month. What is the best way to go about this?
Rent a car for 20 days. You minimally have to register and insure the car. Registration fees are non-refundable, so you will be out that amount. With insurance you can sign up for it and then cancel it after 20 days, but you will be more more than 20 days worth since they will keep the agents comission. Lastly, why would you want to risk a 20day road trip on a car that gets little to now use? I would want to at least have a few weeks of use on a car so that I can get a feel for it and what may potentially go wrong with it before I take a long trip. You really don't want to be far from home and then have the car fail on you.
Is there such a thing as a 5-prong round diamond engagement ring?
my friend is convinced that she once saw and will only settle for an engagement ring with 5 prongs and a round diamond. Has anyone ever seen/heard of such a thing? I find round diamonds in 4 or 6 prongs, and 5 prongs to support a pear or heart shaped diamond, but not what she is looking for. I am not going to propose anytime soon, but still want to be prepared just in case. I have searched the web and always stop and look in every jewelery and antique store I come to, but have never seen this type of ring. Help!

Are my 100 watt compact fluoresent light bulbs to much for my chandelier?
I have a 9 bulb chandelier that I have installed 100w compatiable (but actually 27 w) compact flouresent light bulbs in it. The light fixture does say that they are rated for 100w bulbs. And the lights they I replaced were 60w to 75w standard bulbs. The problem that I'm having is that when I turn on the light swtch (non dimmer type) I am hearing a sizzle popping noise coming from it. And when I first hit the switch sometimes it blinks and I have to switch it on and off a few times to get it to work. But it appears after I do this a couple of times that it will not sizzle in the switch and the lights come on with no problem. I have 2 light control switches to the same light and both of them are doing this since I convered over to these new bulbs.
What are some products people want, but cant seem to get in Australia for a good Price.?
I have been to many peoples homes and it looks nice from the outside in terms of designs, but on the inside they cant afford nice lights e.g chandeliers, nice curtains etc. I understand its expensive stuff...........what are some other things that people find in australia expensive..........or even they cant find in australia. i honestly think if it's something you really want just start off small i don't think the chlorine will have much effect i am a little more concerned about your ear sensitivity. and yes it will hurt.
Is 3 light crystal chandelier bright enought for breakfast table?
Three lights are fine using the new green bulbs that yield 60w. I have a 6 light chandelier and it was way too bright and i unscrewed three bulbs and am using three now. If the lights are hooded, directing the light downwards, this is fine. Using the proper chandelier which directs the light downwards is what you want. Why direct the light to the ceiling? A big waste of energy.

Is it doweled together? They will give a indication of age. At that price sounds like a good chair to start on. Learn the basics first.

How do you make vintage hang tags?
I have seen these hang tags in antique shops and would love to know what the process is. They are card board like paper, sturdy, and sepia tinted with a vintage girl, flower, bird etc,.a single ribbon is attached to the hole punch. The tag gives the appearance of hand drawn but the consistency is too exact. Is there a printer of some sort out there?

i had a dream last night that i was in a dance rehersal in the middle of a very green field. the sky was cloudy, was it was cold and drizzling with rain. this made me feel alive. i was dancing to a song that i've been listened to quiet abit lately and relates to how i feel everday. there were other people around but i didnt notice them much. i was jus concentrating on the part of the song which said "i didnt make a relationship with the stars". the rehersal finishes and i go somewhere to a fix a huge chandelier. im on a chair and i keep trying to hook it onto the ceiling but i cant seem to always seem to get it. when i do manage to attach the chandelier onto the ceiling, i'm scared itll fall. i havent danced or been in a rehersal for ages and i probably wont for a long time yet and i really don't understand what the chandelier has to do with and how it relates to anything. some take a shot at explaining?

I love Chandeliers, all that crystal, I just love to see them glittering. I do not have the type of home that needs a Chandelier, but when I win the lottery I will have a large room and an even larger Chandelier. Generate electric from treadle sewing machine?
I have two working antique treadle sewing machines. Without altering or damaging these machines, I'd like to harness the belt driven power of these treadles to create electricity -- something like the Pedal-a-watt unit for bikes. My Grandmother passed away in 2007. she was a very Christian woman and obviously didn't believe in tattoos or piercing. When I was young her church refused to accept me because I had a nose ring and earring in my cartilage. They look like real paintings and both are signed on the lower left corner in black paint (hard to see but can) and The Black Sash one is dated 1906 in same black painted signature.I bought them in a antique store who purchased them from a estate sale.I live in Kennett Square,PA and was told was out of a house around the area of Unionville,PA....Does anyone know of these? How to start gauging ears?
What I did was get a taper & plug set, 18g- 4g. I got it on ebay for like 30 bucks. I waited 4-6 weeks before stretching each size. If you just got your ears pierced Id wait 2 months before stretching. * gauge is usually the first size they have tunnels for but they are teeny tiny and hard to find gauges for, I would go to at least a 4g. Im at 00g now. Also when stretching, use lotion (unscented) to upsize. It makes it go in a lot easier. But wait at least 4 weeks to upsize so you dont have a blow out.

you can carry any of that stuff in the suitcase, but you can only have 3 oz of liquid at a time in your carry on, and they have to be in separate clear plastic bags. im pretty sure chap stick and deodorant count as liquids too.

People who know old books and how to run a book store?
Hello :) My name is Chelsea. I'm basically obsessed with old books. It's a dream of mine to open an antique book store. I want to learn absolutely all I can about them! Unfortunately, though, I live in rural Ohio. No one in my area can speak, spell or read properly. My whole entire county doesn't even have one book store :( They all die off after a year or two. So of COURSE I will not be opening one here. Anyway, we luckily are surrounded by flea markets, yard sales and antique malls so collecting old books isn't difficult. What all should I learn? I'm talking to a book binding place to learn about that. I'd like to order books about appraisal, cleaning, preservation, etc. Any suggestions? Also, how many books should I try to shoot for before I think about opening a store? I'll be putting all of my money into collecting them. There is a huge rare/antique book store a few hours away. I wouldn't say that it's gone completely bad, but it has gotten slightly worse, yes. It's not just because he died, though; record deals are given to people who can't sing at all nowadays. I still listen to lots of artists, but i do wish we still had Michael and his music.
Boys names that are old-fashioned but not too stuffy or rare?
We both want a name that's traditional rather than modern/trendy, but we are having trouble agreeing beyond that. I love names that sound antique and aren't too common (Harlan, Eldon, Rohan, Ainsley) while my husband thinks those kind of sound made-up since you don't meet many of them these days. He'd prefer a more standard old-fashioned name (like Abraham, which I think is too stuffy). Any suggestions on names we might both like that are traditional, old-fashioned, and mature sounding but can still be seen as youthful? (For example, we both like Everett, Gideon, Oliver, and Harrison.) Bonus if the name sounds woodsy!

DOES ANYONE FEEL OR HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS ME ; i am in my early 30s and male and live with my parents that have been married for nearly 48 years now ( i have not had a girlfirend for nearly 10 years and i get very lonely) the thing is my mother is very ill and cant walk and has heart and breathing trouble and my dad as manic depression and bipolar all in one he has had it for nearly 34 years now this illness and he has a injection in his butt once a week and has to take lots of tablets called lythiem and largatal and other types of stuff i cant remeber there names, as a result i do loads around the house as my dad cant do owt for himself (my mums always looked after him but now my mum has become ill about 6 years ago she couldnt do owt so i took over the chores (it makes my life misrable it really does i cry my self to sleep most nights and the only release i have is to listen to music vids on youtube to get my mind away from my bad life) he gets very angry alot at my mother for no reason at all and shouts at her she obvously feels scared because of this and i always step in to calm it down i even threatened him once with violence ( which i regreted after) its as though hes a bully to just her and it does my nut in he also says i never do owt haha yes i do everything in the house ( this is his illness you see he doesnt understand what he is saying) my mums life is not worth living to be honest her life is **** and so his mine) i want to meet a girl and settle down but how the hell could i and can i ) i am a decent looking guy 6ft 2inch tall blue eyes so i can get a girl hehe but who would want me not anyone right.....i met a girl last year but i couldnt bring her to my house through shame and embarrassment that i lived at parents house plus other stuff we had to split up.....i meet woman but i know i cant get to close to the point there no anything about me so obvously i am very lonely person and spend most my days and weekends on my own well in this house but still feels like i am alone ( i listen to constant arguing and it makes me feel like i am going mad sometimes...i have no job because i am a carer for my parents and couldnt get a job even if i wanted to ( i buy and sell online to raise extra cash in spare time) i cant even go away for the weekend because i worry that my mum will be misraBLE on her own with my dad just him and her besides there wouldnt beable to have a meal or owt without me so i cant go out for to long>......i feel so fed up with life right now but i just cant be bothered being depressed (bet that sounds silly) CANT BE BOTHERED BEING DEPRESSED) the thing is i fight depression and i will not give in to the feeling of depression ( i watch movies to take the pain away...............i sit out side the door most dark nights when its a clear sky to look at the stars ( i see a bright star and i wish upon it) i wish upon that star that i could be happy (true happiness) not bothered about money or winning the lottery because that wouldnt change my situation at all well maybe id beable to afford to get pro carers in to look after my mother and father...if my dad didnt have this illness he could look aftyer my mother and visa versa but there both ill...........i have dreams and ambition and lots of them (i want my own bussiness in antiques and would like to have a nice country home or little cottage home with a nice wife and my own children running around and waking us up in the morning and taking them on days out to the theme parks at weekends yes id love my own family and often fantasies about what it would be like and this makes the pain i feel now bearable.........i am such a happy person normally with zest for life but not anymore i just feel so so so lonely and a feeling of loss inside my bleeding heart and a emptyness in my soul........my life is on hold right now its so frustrating but i love my parents so much and i cant and refuse to just say i am going to leave them on there own ( i have two sisters by the way that are married and there make the odd meal to help out now and then but there have got there own families i guess) my mums crys alot about things and the pain she is in....her body is in so much pain plus she has the added pressure of my dad being the way he is....its abit like living a nightmare and as been quite like this since the day i was born.....i like to right songs and this gives me release and go on my facebook site ( i have 87 friends lol and not one of them knows how my life is so i guess there dont know me at all do there ( i am to embarrassed to say how my life is thats why there dont know) ......ive not been huged for 10 years or told that i am loved as in someone saying i love you.......ive never been in love because ive never had chance to be with a woman for 10 years now...ive had one girlfriend in my life when i was 17 till 18 was together a year i am now 32 years old...is there any females in the same situation as me or can anyone help

Is it bad for my ear to be a little swollen on a new ear piercing?
I pierced my ear lobes again 2 weeks ago and now when i touch it it kinda hurts. so i took off my ear piercing and i felt that it has a ball in my hole. i put alcohol in it to make it try to get better. I don't know why it's swollen i always cleaned it with the ear solution they gave me and i turn the earring around after i clean it. i got it professionally pierced. so what do i do? do i just leave it alone. my mom says it's fine but i don't think so? so it bad or not?

I can say its not a very Christian thing to say or do. You sound like a great parent, with awesome morals. Teaching your child that everyone is unique and that treating everyone with respect regardless of their ecomonic situation. Just tell your child the truth about the situation. Remind her that what her friend said about the other side was rude and insensitive, also ask her how she'd feel if someone said that about her. Empathy can be a great tool. This little girl and her mother sound like they could use some good friends, especially if the other mother is starting these kinds of rumors through her child.

Should I paint antique furniture?
I've had my bedroom set since I was born (I'm 27 now) and my parents bought it as antiques. My children now use the bedroom set in their rooms (2 twin beds, a dresser with mirror and a tall dresser). They are all in really good condition and they look awesome in my son's room because his room is vintage nautical themed, but my daughter's room is bright and cheery and they just don't fit. Would it be a mistake to paint her furniture? I've wanted to since I was little, but my parents would never allow it because they love antiques. Even now, they feel I would be making a mistake by painting it. Thoughts anyone? I know nothing about antiques...

Looking for a store online that sells antique push knob parts (interior mechanisms)?
I'm trying to find interior door parts (inside the door mechanism) for an exterior door from the 1930's. The handle is intact but is missing a part on the inside which springs the push knob up and down. I'm only finding door handles but not interior mechanical replacements. I'm also looking for an explaination or diagram of how these old push button locksets work.

How many books should I collect to start a store?
I want to open a bookstore specifically selling antique and rare books. I have lots of great ideas and I know once a used bookstore of any kind is opened they collect books VERY quickly. However, how many should I start with? I don't want it to be completely ridiculous with like, 10 books on a shelf. Although I don't want to have to fill my entire home with trillions of valuable, very delicate books for years before I can get started, either. A little help with a general amount to open with? Earlobe stretching.. How long does it take?
I've been having the worst time with my normal earrings and now I want gauges. I know I need to move down to a 16 gauge, and I've been looking at different sites about it... will there be any serious pain with the stretching or will it be a slight pinch? Should i twist my earring after getting the lobe pierced?
I use a antiseptic spray called Sterilear (purposely made for newly pierced ears), but other than that didn't get instructed on anything. It's just the lobe (1st piercing) so i dont know - should i twist the earring or not? And how/when should I, if i should? Do i wait a week? If i dont twist it, will the skin grow on the earring or something?

I have a chandelier that requires 16 bulbs. It states to "Use MAX 40 Watt type B bulb". I would like to replace the current high wattage bulbs (25w) with the smaller type C7 (4w) bulbs. The main reason is because my dimmer switch plate gets hot when the lights are on and the total wattage used will be 64 watts as compared to 400 watts. This could be a bad electrical connection. You should check the wiring at the base of the chandelier for good tight connections. Turn the power to the chandelier off at the breaker box first.

Can my chandelier catch fire?

There was this game that I played in best buy about 6 years ago. It was up to 4 players. I play as an animated character in a 3d environment. The camera is 3rd person and above all the players to catch all the action. You pretty much fight it out in courses that change and get destroyed around you. You have to keep moving because the course is always moving and the camera with it. In one of the courses, you're fighting on giant chandeliers or something and you have to fight and keep jumping on different chandeliers because the course is moving and some get broken and stuff.

It all depends on how much work there is and how easy it is to feed the wires if more than one spotlight is put in. If there is an attic above it is much easier and will not disturb the ceiling at all.

Since it's going to be displayed indoors there is not need to seal it. I've painted furniture before and never sealed it with no problems. If you were to display it outdoors or where it will be subjected to the elements I would suggest a coat of exterior paint.

Hello, a while back i bought a sweet looking trench spike from an antique shop, I have done several google image searches but haven't found a match for it yet, the closesti can get to it is a U.S. Model 1918 trench knife, but instead of "U.S. 1918..." on the grip there is just an arrow pointing to the knuckle guard and instead of a knife it has a 6" long spike (like a really large nail), the base of the grip also doesn't have that hexagonal mini spike but is flat. How to ground a chandelier in a receptacle wired with BX wire?
I have a chandelier receptacle that the previous owner left with no fixture. It has BX wiring to the box. I can see the white and black wires coming out and a small white one wrapped back around the BX metal sheilding. The chandelier I want to put in must be grounded according to the directions. Can I just run a ground wire to the receptacle box and screw it into the box and have a proper ground. When I attach a circuit tester to the black and white wires and then touch the third prong of the tester to the box, it says it is connected correctly. As expected it says the ground is open when the third terminal is not in contact with the metal receptacle. This leads me to believe the receptacle is grounded through the BX wire. Am I correct and can I use this method to ground the chandelier.

Cartilage piercing questions?
I had my cartilage done years ago. I still have the raised bump thing. So long as you have an earring in it, it will be tender to the touch. It will close after one full day of having something out of it. It is really hard to tell if it is healed, I know that you will stop seeing crusty junk around the ear when it is healed. Just keep it clean.

Dimmer switch mystery?
One wire is a constant hot..one wire is a feeder wire which must be tied with the hot wire.The other wire is a switch leg to the new light.If you have it that way everything must work..Dimmer switch would not create a issue.It has 2 wires.One is for the hot and one for the switch leg to the light.

They are little wood tokens and they say, "J.W. Howard Smithfield ILL" on them." there is also a "5" on the tokens. I have 3 of them. they appear to be very old. does anyone know what what they are and if they are worth anything?

Which would you rather have? your house decorated in big Beautiful amazing expensive furniture and antiques but have regular technology Not old but not the latest. Or would you rather have all the latest stuff but have all used cheap furniture. Im talking about when someone wants to throw something away you take it off them. This is also including used matrices,beds,chairs,lamp shades ext. So would yu rather the nice luxery furniture or the latest technology? Pick one and why?

It has a gold trim around the edge with a black scrolling design. The name Albin Denk Wein is stamped on the bottom of both the cup and saucer. Number 560. is stamped into the cup. My Grandmother bought 4 cups and saucers from an antique store in New Orleans on Royal St. I am trying to get a sell price. Thanks,

Can you coat brass (gold color) to look like brushed nickel?
I have 2 brass doorbell pipes in my house, and I want to make them look like brushed nickel. I tried to find new ones but that was impossible. Is there a way to coat these to make them look like brushed nickel? I am changing all the fixtures in my house from gold to brushed nickel (door knobs, chandelier, fireplace doors, & doorbell pipes).
