After getting ears Re-Pierced, how long do i need to leave the studs in?

While I was pregnant, earrings really bothered me. So my piercings grew back. I really don't want to wait 6-8 weeks to change me earrings. Should I wait or can i go ahead and change them since they were already pierced?
